College Football Odds: Opening Early Lines, Values Week 6

No. 2 Georgia made it look easy against an SEC West opponent last week, breezing past Arkansas in a 37-0 win. The Bulldogs will face another ranked team from the SEC West when they travel to No. 18 Auburn on Saturday afternoon in the 3:30 p.m. ET SEC on CBS matchup during the the Week 6 college football schedule. Auburn is coming off a thrilling win, but the Tigers are 14.5-point underdogs in the latest Week 6 college football odds at Caesars Sportsbook. Another big matchup takes place in Iowa, where the No. 3 Hawkeyes host No. 4 Penn State.

Top Week 6 college football predictions

One of the top college football picks the model is recommending for Week 6: No. 17 Ole Miss to cover as a six-point favorite against No. 13 Arkansas. The Rebels were unable to compete with top-ranked Alabama last week, falling behind early and never recovering. It was a similar story for Arkansas, which was shut out by second-ranked Georgia. Ole Miss is led by quarterback Matt Corral, the player who currently has the second-shortest Heisman Trophy odds at Caesars.

SportsLine's model is projecting Corral to throw for 256 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday afternoon. The balanced Ole Miss rushing attack is expected to have a big day as well. Arkansas does not have enough firepower to keep up, which is why the Rebels are covering the spread in almost 60 percent of simulations.

Another one of the college football predictions from the model: No. 9 Michigan covers as a three-point favorite at Nebraska on Saturday night. Michigan's off to its best start in a few years, but the Huskers have rebounded after their season-opening loss to Illinois. In a primetime environment in Lincoln with Nebraska coach Scott Frost looking for what would easily be his best win on the job, the underdog has all the motivation it needs.

But Michigan is equipped to win a low-scoring battle if it has to, and showed the past two weeks in wins against Rutgers and Wisconsin that it can still pull out a victory if the other team stops its rushing attack. Quarterback Cade McNamara has shown he can be effective in the limited passing opportunities he's provided, going 17 for 28 for 197 yards and two touchdowns against Wisconsin. In simulations, SportsLine's model has Michigan winning more than 60 percent of the time. The point total, which sits at 52, goes under in well over 60 percent of simulations.

How to make Week 6 college football picks

The model has also made the call on who wins and covers in every other game on the Week 6 college football schedule, and it's calling for a national title contender to go down hard. You can only get every pick for every game at SportsLine.

So what college football picks can you make with confidence? And which national title contender goes down hard?
